About
CRN Fight Night was launched in May 2008, and has become a very established and popular event in the channel calendar. To date we have raised an impressive £116,702 for a host of worthy charities, all chosen personally by our courageous contestants.
For 2012, CRN will once again be teaming up with Cityboxer to put contestants through a vigorous three month training regime with a personal trainer at the world famous Ring Boxing Club in Southwark.
Each contestant is given the opportunity to raise money for the charity of their choice and the whole process culminates in the most entertaining and worthwhile evening in the channel calendar!
Get yourself fighting fit... become a contender at Fight Night 2012!
Assessments
Assessments will take place at The Ring Boxing Club, Southwark.
Dates: 31st January 2012 and 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th February 2012.
Time slots between: 17:30 - 19:30pm
To book your slot please contact Louise Forder on email louise.forder@incisivemedia.com or 020 7004 7435.
During the assessment session the trainers at Cityboxer will put you through some basic training and film you on the bag. This will last approximately 1hr.
There is no need for any previous experience; we have had many fighters who have never stepped foot in a ring before! Once Cityboxer have seen all the potential fighters they can make their choice on matches. A match is based on numerous criteria not just height and weight and so the assessment gives Cityboxer a chance to see all potential contenders and decide who are the best ‘match'. There is no age limit. If Cityboxer feel there is a health & safety reason why you cannot take part they will inform you. All contenders over a certain age will need to take an MRI examination before proceeding. If you are selected as one of CRN Fight Night's contenders then training will start in February 2012.
Training
Training will start Mid-February 2012.
You will be assigned a trainer from Cityboxer and you will have 2 one on one training sessions a week.
Obviously, we understand that all people will have commitments but as Incisive Media are paying for this service we hope that you endeavour to make as many of the sessions as you can. It is your decision if you wish to do more training outside of these one on one sessions but the more you put in, the more you get out!!
Training will be at the Ring Boxing Club, Southwark. If you are based outside of London and are chosen to be a CRN Fight Night contender Cityboxer will work with their contacts to find you a trainer and gym in your nearest city. If this is not possible then we will work to find a solution.
Charity
Each contender is able to pick the charity of their choice to fight for. Incisive Media is aiming to make as much money as possible for all 16 charities and need your commitment to do this. Incisive Media must cover the costs of the event and anything over and above this from the charity auction, programme sales etc will be split between all 16 charities.
We ask that all contenders raise money through their own efforts.
In previous years many of our fighters were very proactive in their money raising. Some examples are:
1. Starting Just Giving pages
2. Supported by their companies through table sales to attend Fight Night 2012
3. Getting their local communities involved with community fund raising events
Obviously, this is all down to you individually and the time you can give but we do ask that you use this wonderful experience to raise extra money from friends, family and colleagues.
Safety
Your safety is priority to Cityboxer and Incisive Media. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer before taking part in any training or taking part in the event.
