Charity you are representing and why:
The Railway Children was launched in 1995 to stop the abuse of children living
alone and at risk on the streets and railways across Africa, Asia, South America
and Europe. Comms-care adopted this charity by a close friend who sadly is no
longer with us, and in honour of his memory, I have decided to nominate The
Railway Children as my chosen charity also.
Why you have entered CRN Fight Night 2010?
I have two reasons for entering. Firstly, it gives me a chance to raise money
for a very worthwhile charity. Secondly, a much more selfish reason, it will
give me the much needed motivation to finally shed some weight and get fit
(something, like a lot of people, have been talking about doing for many years
but always found an excuse not to do it)
Have you ever boxed before?
Before being entered into this, only a bit of pad work for fitness. Since the
assessment i have done a couple of sparring sessions to see what it feels like
to be hit (surprisingly it doesn’t feel great!)
How you would describe your boxing style?
Rough round the edges, but possible potential – or at least that’s what I keep
hearing.
What are you looking forward to most on the night?
With 3 months to go, I’d have to say I’m looking forward to the whole experience
of the night. Ask me again just before the fight and I think the only thing I’ll
be looking forward to will be the bell at the end of round 3 (if I make it that
long!).
What is your theme tune? Not decided yet.
What words have you got for your opponent?
If I hurt you with my left, go down. You don’t want to feel my right!
